Again!

I'm back! This is an update as I have not really been using this site as much as planned in the beginning. I am going to post a few pics from our December 2006 recital. It was a wonderful semester, and we are in the middle of the Spring 2007 semester. Things are going great for the students. I will post more info!

YAY!

Welcome!

This is the site of the blog for Melissa Burke Vocal and Acting Studio. We have a great group of talented people who grow so much from training and performing. We are just beginning the Fall semester for 2006 with some great things to come! This site is a place to honor students for a job well done! Training in the areas of singing and acting helps people not only on a journey to one day becoming a "star" but also in general self-confidence. Students take this training and apply it in many areas of their lives. This is the place to share your accomplishments and your growth! What have you learned? What new performing opportunities are you participating in? Last year I had students involved in so many different activities like school plays, pageants, recitals, chorus, singing the national anthem, singing in church, auditioning for theatres, participating in Moppets, etc. I even had a student, Alfonza Jones, to be accepted into the ECU School of Music. Also, Laken Baysden is just ending her run with the young company of the professional theatre group through the Carolinian Shakespeare Festival in New Bern! I am so excited for all of you! Looking forward to a new year and lots of new accomplishments to post here!

See you soon!
